Ja feia gairebé dos anys que tenia la càmera del mòbil trencada, que no registrava la meva quotidianitat, quan a Portugal vaig tenir una bona oportunitat d'aconseguir un "antic" rellotge Casio amb càmera integrada, amb aquest vaig decidir registrar l'estiu d'aquell any, el del 2023.

En no comptar amb el dispositiu per extreure les fotos del rellotge, vaig fer-li fotos a la pantalla. Fotos on es veu una separació entre píxels, que recorda a les juntes de rajoles.

Això se li suma la poca resolució de les fotografies, que les fa poc evidents, i més privades, pràcticament només desxifrables per aquells qui vam viure cadascuna d'aquestes. Una poca resolució que em provoca la sensació d'ajudar-me a estimular la memòria, més que una fotografia estàndard. Una poca resolució o precisió, que també dona peu a una gran diversitat d'interpretacions sobre els contextos de les fotografies.

I had gone almost two years without my phone's camera working, without documenting my daily life, when in Portugal I got a great opportunity to get an “old” Casio watch with a built-in camera. With it, I decided to document the summer of that year, 2023. 

Since I didn't have the device to get the photos off the watch, I took pictures of the screen. Photos where you can see a separation between pixels, reminiscent of grout between tiles.

This is compounded by the low resolution of the photos, which makes them less obvious and more private, practically only decipherable by those of us who lived through each of these moments. A low resolution that makes me feel it's more about stimulating memory than a standard photograph. A low resolution or precision that also allows for a wide variety of interpretations about the photographs' contexts.
