White is the Most Opaque Colour: Palimpsestic Material Care










Una investigació que analitza l'abismal influència estètica que han tingut en la nostra quotidianitat els principis de l'esterilitat i l'higienisme. Principis propis d'entorns com laboratoris o hospitals. Principis molt ben vistos i relacionats amb les cures. Però que al mateix temps, pel fet que són altament presents en la nostra quotidianitat, han provocat dinàmiques que han canviat la nostra relació i vincle amb el nostre entorn i amb els objectes que ens rodegen. Incentivant dinàmiques que descuiden i destrueixen al medi ambient, a les classes populars i a la diversitat identitària i cultural humana. Mentre beneficien a grans empreses i a polítics.

Posteriorment, aquesta investigació busca com, principalment des de col·lectius antisistema, es trenca amb aquesta estètica estèril i higienista i, per tant, amb els seus principis. Per concloure amb l'elaboració d'un manifest, que promogui estètiques vinculessis a les filosofies de la cura. Que procurin cuidar allò que els principis d'esterilitat i higienisme, descuiden i destrueixen.
 An investigation that analyzes the abysmal aesthetic influence that the principles of sterility and hygienism have had on our daily lives. Principles of environments such as laboratories or hospitals. Principles very well seen and related to care. But at the same time, because they are highly present in our everyday life, they have caused dynamics that have changed our relationship and link with our environment and with the objects that surround us. Incentivizing dynamics that neglect and destroy the environment, popular classes and human identity and cultural diversity. While they benefit big business and politicians.

This research looks, after all, at how, mainly from anti-system groups, it breaks with this sterile and hygienist aesthetic and, therefore, with its principles. To conclude with the elaboration of a manifesto, which promotes aesthetic links to the philosophies of care. That they try to take care of what the principles of sterility and hygienism neglect and destroy.



El treball de fi de màster de Pol Julià  «El blanc és el color més opac. Algunes ecologies Post-Punk» , se situa davant les crisis ecosocials contemporànies i proposa una revisió crítica i actualització d'unes certes pràctiques del Post Punk i de la contracultura com a mode de cura i responsabilitat davant les pràctiques destructives de consum desmesurat del nostre present. Des d'una crítica al « racionalisme industrial » que s'imposa sota l'aparença d'una aparença neutra i higiènica, promou valors i idees que maltracten el medi ambient i atempten contra la pluralitat de cultures i identitats. El treball s'estructura en onze apartats que van configurant diverses escenes de les dinàmiques mercantilistes del racionalisme industrial, que s'expandeixen sota la forma de progrés, per a anar cap a una proposta crítica que promou la cura dels materials i la necessitat urgent de transformar les nostres percepcions i apreciacions estètiques. Per això, inclou un treball de camp i recerca estètica.

Pol Julià's master's thesis "White is the most opaque color. Some Post-Punk ecologies", confronts contemporary eco-social crises and proposes a critical review and update of certain Post-Punk and counterculture practices as a mode of care and responsibility in the face of the destructive, excessive consumption practices of our present. From a critique of "industrial rationalism" that imposes itself under the guise of a neutral and hygienic appearance, promotes values and ideas that mistreat the environment and violate the plurality of cultures and identities. The work is structured into eleven sections that configure various scenes of the mercantilist dynamics of industrial rationalism, which expand under the guise of progress, leading to a critical proposal that promotes the care of materials and the urgent need to transform our perceptions and aesthetic appreciations.  Therefore, it includes fieldwork and aesthetic research.
